Ho Ho Ho
Samuel Leonard Keith Leonard's build up to Christmas has consisted of the following:
-Convincing people that £150 is a reasonable amount to spend on a pair of jeans (whilst secretly advising them that if they wait four days, they will be an even more reasonable £85).
-Conquering my fear of going upstairs on buses in Birmingham, i've discovered that while there may be an increased risk of being mugged, the conversations you over-hear are a lot more interesting.
-Looking for a new guitar on Ebay, this will be my Christmas present from Lottie and the Parents.
-Getting excited about possibly getting a new job that is as wonderful as my last one.
-Watching the Arcade Fire's new DVD: Miroir Noir in two minute portions because my computer is a dick head.
-And finally....writing new songs! Hooooray! Two new ones to be specific, they are both about twelve minutes long at the moment, with about 8 verses (after I read this) so they should see the light of day in about a year.

gaah!
Had a bit of a setback on the recording front sadly. Phil is unwell, and we got double booked at the suite today. Totally pants. Guess have to defer til the new year, but it will happen, and damn it it's gonna happen awesomely. Beautiful. Sam is a jammy bugger, that recording is ace. Through ace and out the other side if i'm honest

This Is the Bit Where I Cried...
I've never cried at a gig before, I came close at End of the Road (I'm sure Jess did as well), anyway this song made me cry, it's not the lyrics that do it, it's just that note he hits when he sings 'come on skinny love', I suppose it takes me back to some time or place and hits a soft spot in me.
I can't say i enjoyed his new songs that much, to be honest they're too bleedin' cheery! He must be in love and content and having a fucking brilliant time with his new found success and life, but it just doesn't do it for me.
I suppose as soon as I write a fantastic song about being happy and fulfilled, then I'll be in a position to criticise.

Well, well, well...
What is that white stuff in bird poop? Bird poop.
It's good to talk, as Hoskins said. So let's talk more. Especially this way so everyone can see who the real brains. Is.

Cally:
After much recording, play back, feed back, listening and the scattering of band members to corners as far flung as Birmingham, I have finally got in touch with Phil, our lovely sound engineer, and I'll finish off my bit next week on the 11th. Then it's back to Sam for the mixity mash up that will create the lovely showcase of songs by Sam and Jess that I am so blown away to be allowed to play on. I can't wait to hear everything all finished up. The Falmouth legend that was will continue!
Sam, is this the sort of thing I should be writing on the blog? Does it sound a bit sunny and cheery for us? x
